Hey Friends -

I just thought we would drop a line with a few updates. We are currently on the road as I am writing this from El Paso, TX as we speak. Since we got off of the Vans Warped Tour this past summer we have been writing like crazy in preparation to record a full-length record sometime next year. We recorded and shot a video for a cover song of Christopher Cross’ “Sailing” that is available for download and viewing here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kru2iF9tRFQ)

Going into the new year we will be keeping our website (http://www.windsordrivemusic.com) much more up to date, posting video blog updates regarding progress on the upcoming record and other news. We will also be announcing a hometown show in the upcoming months as well as other regional tour dates. Make sure to also watch the online store, as new merch designs will be available for purchase!

If you have attended a Windsor Drive show in the past you know that we like to perform a cover song here or there during our set to spice things up a bit. Anyway, we decided to take it one step further this time and try something new. We present to you our very own recorded version of the 1980 number one hit Sailing by Christopher Cross. The music of Christopher Cross has been a huge influence on us as individuals and collectively as we write Windsor Drive songs. After tracking the song, we thought to further demonstrate the emotion of such a powerful song it would be cool to shoot a video for it. Daniel Cummings, a great friend of ours who has worked with fellow Wisconsinite Bon Iver as well as regional artists Tapes ‘n Tapes and Mason Jennings, was approached about the idea and shared a passion and creative vision for the song. To some of you we hope this brings back memories of those days many years ago, and for others we hope this opens the door to new music! Check it out… Sailing. — Kipp, Jon, Owen, & Dan

Wausau Area Events & City Pages continue their Summer series “Concerts on the Square” Wednesday, August 10th with Central Wisconsin based, melodic-rock band Windsor Drive.

Fresh off the 2011 Vans Warped Tour, Windsor Drive will be performing a two-hour set to include a wide variety of their past catalog and new material from their forthcoming full length album.

The concert is FREE to the public and will be hosted on the newly renovated 400 Block – City Square in downtown Wausau. Feel free to bring beer/wine, a blanket, and some snacks to enjoy the evening with Windsor Drive.

Windsor Drive performing 6:00pm – 8:00pm (2 Hour Set!)

*This will be a rain or shine event. Rain location is inside the Elk’s Lodge on Scott St.

**This will be the second to last Concert on the Square this year, so if you haven’t been to the new square, make sure to make it down for this one!
