Houston Press previewed our Bridges EP release at Fitzgerald’s, the room that had become the center of our life in Houston. Jef Rouner placed the new record in the context of our work with producer Stephen Short and a bill shared with the 71s, Deep Ella, Mechanical Boy and Canvas Waiting.
The review heard warmth, loss and sincerity in the five-song EP, comparing its atmosphere with an older strain of indie rock rather than the empty commercialism of contemporary radio. For us, it is one of the clearest surviving snapshots of the moment Houston began to feel like a second hometown.
