Cynthia Lam interviewed us for Stitched Sound’s ninth issue, published in August 2010. Jon traced the band from school and church connections to rehearsals in Owen’s basement on Windsor Drive. He and Dan described the piano at the center of the songs and the small hometown goals that gradually grew into bigger ones.
With the Mae and Terrible Things tour approaching, Owen talked about seeing Seattle, returning to New York and reaching more people with the music. The conversation also turned to staying grounded and getting to know the people who came to shows. The interview appears on page 15 of the original issue.
This account preserves the history in the band’s own words. The original publisher’s article is linked where available.
